Ortiz Canned Seafood
Conservas Ortiz was founded by Bernando Ortiz in 1891 on the Basque coast. He would purchase from the coastal fishermen their catch of anchovies and tuna, and preserved them by the traditional methods in his small cannery. He was meticulous in treating the delicate seafood. Thus established Ortiz’s fine reputation in the industry.
Today, Ortiz is in the hands of the 5th generation. It continues to have “great respect for tradition, coastal fishing based on the tides, and the exclusive purchase of north coast tuna which are line- caught, one-by-one.” Ortiz products are well known for their exceptional quality, and their beautiful, old fashioned packaging.
