Asbach Liqueur Chocolates
In the “Golden Twenties”, it was not proper for ladies to drink alcohol in the public. To get around it, Hugo Asbach, the founder of Germany’s best known Asbach brandy, decided in 1924 to cover his brandy with fine bitter sweet chocolate as a small delight for the ladies. The fine chocolate combined with the full body of Asbach brandy provided such a pleasant treat that it has since won the hearts of many.
Today, the excellent Asbach liqueur chocolates are produced under license by Rüdesheimer Confiserie, the prestigious chocolate company known for their exquisite quality, and itself a subsidiary of Reber confectionery of the Mozart-Kugeln fame.
